Meet the instructor
Kristen Coelho
Kristen Coelho is currently the Executive Director at INTO Hofstra University. She previously provided resources, trainings, and on-site expertise to charter schools, helping them develop and grow high-quality, inclusive programs for linguistically and culturally diverse students with the Collaborative for Inclusive Education. Kristen built her career as an international educator, with a primary focus on creating inclusive program models for MLL/ELL populations. Prior to her work at the Collaborative for Inclusive Education, she served as Academic Director of a university pathway and intensive English program for undergraduate and graduate international students. Kristen also taught in both district and charter schools in New York City, where she designed and implemented culturally responsive curriculum, led collaborative co-teaching, and initiated schoolwide efforts that resulted in significant performance gains for ELLs.
She holds a Bachelor of Music from Boston University and a Master of Arts in TESOL from Columbia University Teachers College.
